# AI Executive Assistant | OpenAssistant

An AI executive assistant with its own name, phone number, email address, calendar, and secure computer. It manages your inbox and schedule, does research, preps your meetings, and follows up, over calls, iMessage, SMS, WhatsApp, email, or the web app. Now in private beta.

## A teammate, not a chat window

- **A name and a job title**: Your assistant has its own name, introduces itself as your assistant, and never pretends to be you unless you tell it to.
- **Its own email address**: A real inbox, or an address on your company domain, so the people it writes to see a colleague and not a bot account.
- **Its own phone number**: Call it, text it, or let it call others for you. It is a number you save in your contacts like anyone else's.
- **Its own secure computer**: A sandboxed machine where it opens the same apps and websites you do, and does the work the way a person would.
- **Its own calendar**: It sees your availability, keeps its own commitments, and books time on both sides without the back and forth.

## What your AI executive assistant does

- **Runs your calendar**: Finds the time, sends the invite, handles the reschedules, and keeps your week in the shape you want.
- **Manages your inbox**: Triages what arrives, drafts your replies, flags what went unanswered, and clears the noise.
- **Does the research**: Looks into companies, people, and markets, and brings back a brief instead of a list of links.
- **Preps your meetings**: Sends a daily agenda and a brief for each meeting, with who you are meeting and what they care about.
- **Follows up**: Chases replies, reminds people of what they owe you, and tells you when something is stuck.
- **Uses the web and your apps**: Works in the tools you already use, and browses sites on your behalf when there is no integration.
- **Makes the calls**: Phones people for you when a call is the right move, and reports back with what was said.
- **Handles recurring work**: Describe a routine once in plain English and it runs on demand, on a schedule, or when something happens.

## Reach it the way you reach anyone

- **Phone calls**: Talk to it like you would an assistant down the hall, and let it call out for you.
- **iMessage, SMS, and WhatsApp**: Text a request from anywhere and get the answer in the same thread.
- **Email**: Cc it on a thread, forward it a task, or write to it the way you would to a person.
- **The web app**: See what it is working on, review its drafts, and change how much it does without asking.

## Who it is for

- **CEOs and executives**: Hand off the scheduling, the inbox, and the follow-ups, and keep the decisions that need you.
- **Founders**: Cover the work of a full-time assistant while the team is still small.
- **Investors**: Triage founder intros, prep partner meetings, and keep follow-ups from slipping.
- **Sales leaders**: Keep every lead answered and every next step on the calendar.
- **Executive assistants**: Give an EA an AI teammate that takes the repeatable work and scales their reach.
- **Teams and enterprises**: Deploy assistants across the company with admin controls over what they can do.

## Under your control

- **Autonomy per action**: Choose what it does on its own and what waits for your approval. An admin can lock those settings for everyone.
- **Works with people outside your company**: It schedules with, writes to, and calls the people you work with, and coordinates on shared tasks across companies.
- **Plain-English workflows**: Describe the routine. Run it on demand, on a schedule, or when a trigger fires.
- **Built for IT to say yes**: SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and CCPA, and no training on customer data.

## Security

- SOC 2 Type II
- GDPR and CCPA
- SAML SSO, SCIM, and RBAC on Team plans
- Audit logs on Enterprise

## Frequently asked questions

### What is an AI executive assistant?

An AI executive assistant does the work a human executive assistant does: it manages your calendar and inbox, researches, preps your meetings, follows up, and coordinates with other people on your behalf. The difference from a chatbot is that it acts. It has its own email address, phone number, calendar, and computer, so it can carry a task from request to finished.

### Is there an AI executive assistant app?

Yes, and you do not have to live in it. OpenAssistant has a web app for reviewing what your assistant is doing and setting how much it does on its own, and you reach your assistant by phone call, iMessage, SMS, WhatsApp, or email, so it works from whichever app you already have open.

### Can a CEO use an AI executive assistant?

Yes. CEOs and other executives are the core use case: calendar and inbox management, meeting prep, research, and follow-ups. You decide which actions it takes on its own and which it asks you about first, and an admin can lock those settings for the whole company.

### Is there a free AI executive assistant?

OpenAssistant is in private beta. We are letting people in over time, so the way to get started is to request early access. We have not published pricing yet.

### How do I use AI as an executive assistant?

Start by handing off the work you least want to do: scheduling, inbox triage, meeting briefs, and follow-ups. Describe the task in plain English, decide what it may do without asking, and review its work for the first few days. Once you trust a kind of task, let it run on its own, on a schedule, or whenever a trigger fires.

### Does my assistant pretend to be a person?

No. It has its own name and works as your assistant. It can write under its own name or on your behalf when you allow it, and you stay in control of which one it does.

### Can it work with people outside my company?

Yes. It schedules meetings, writes emails, and makes calls to people outside your organization, and it can share tasks and workflows with other assistants and people inside and across companies.

### Is it secure?

OpenAssistant is SOC 2 Type II audited and supports GDPR and CCPA. Your data is not used to train models. Team plans add SAML SSO, SCIM, and role-based access control, and Enterprise adds audit logs. The Trust Center has the details.
