## Frequently Asked Questions

### What is OpenAssistant and how does it work?

OpenAssistant is an always-on executive assistant with a persistent identity, a name, face, personality, email, and phone. It schedules meetings, handles email back-and-forth, researches topics, preps you for meetings, creates documents, monitors your inbox, and keeps people accountable.

It can also run custom recurring tasks that watch for events and take action automatically, eliminating repetitive work.

You work with your assistant the same way you'd work with a human assistant: request a task by email, text, Slack, or in the app, and they take care of it and learn from your feedback over time.

### What is a credit?

A credit is the unit of work your assistant uses to complete tasks. Simple tasks might use 10-50 credits, while more advanced work, like deep research, complex recurring tasks, or coordinating a meeting across multiple people, use hundreds.

Built-in system recurring tasks like Daily Agendas, End-of-Day Wraps, and more do not consume any credits for paid plans.

Every paid plan includes a monthly bundle of credits, and you can purchase additional credits at any time as your needs grow.

### What if I use all my monthly credits?

If you use all of your monthly credits, you can either wait for your balance to refresh at the start of your next billing cycle, upgrade your plan, or purchase additional credits whenever you need them. Credit top-ups start at just $15, making it easy to complete a few more tasks without upgrading your plan.

### What is included on the Starter plan?

The intention of the Starter plan is to try OpenAssistant, and no credit card is required to start. You are granted 1,000 credits when you join, and once you have used them you start earning bonus credits, up to 1,000 more each month.

You can also earn credits by referring others to sign up.

### How do bonus credits work on the Starter plan?

Bonus credits are a Starter plan benefit, there to keep your assistant working once you run out. When your balance is used up, you receive 100 bonus credits the next day, up to 1,000 bonus credits per month.

They are granted only when you need them. If you still have credits sitting in your balance, you will not receive bonus credits that day, so they top you back up rather than piling on top of credits you have not spent.

### What are the differences between Pro, Team, and Enterprise?

The main difference between Pro and Team is that Pro is intended for individual users and small startup teams, and Team is intended for larger organizations. Both are priced per user, per month.

Team includes features like SSO, SCIM, RBAC, as well as pooled credits, and other IT admin controls.

Enterprise is for enterprise-sized companies who need advanced organization-level admin controls, dedicated account management, custom implementations, and more.

### How do referrals work?

If you invite someone to sign up, and they do, you and that person both receive 500 free credits.

### What are pooled credits?

On the Team and Enterprise plans, additional credits can be purchased and pooled across everyone on your team or organization instead of being assigned to individual users.

That means users can draw on the shared balance so your team gets the most value without micro-managing per-seat allocations.

### Can I change or cancel my plan anytime?

You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately, and downgrades or cancellations apply at the end of your current billing period, so you keep access to everything you've paid for until then.

Your data is retained until you delete your account, so if you decide to come back, your assistants are still there waiting for you.

### What happens to my credits if I cancel?

Your monthly plan credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over, nor are they refundable.

If your subscription ends, any remaining plan credits expire at the close of your current billing period, and your assistants pause any work until you resume your plan to get more credits.

Additional credits you purchase do not expire and can be used at any time.

### Do I deserve an assistant?

Yes.
