What is new.

We make OpenAssistant a little better every day. Here is what changed.

  • Chat apps

One switch for who your assistant talks to in Slack

In Slack, your assistant now follows one simple switch that says whether it chats with people it does not know. Turn it on or off in one place.

  • Your assistants

Scan a picture to text your assistant

On your assistant's page there is now a little square picture. Point your phone at it and your assistant's number opens, with a friendly hello already typed for you. It works for texting and for WhatsApp.

  • Your assistants

A Slack button on your assistant's card

Each assistant's card now has a small Slack button that opens a chat with it, and your Slack groups show their little pictures.

  • Speed and care

    Emails to yourself still arrive

Sometimes your assistant's double-check is busy. An email it sends only to you now still goes out, with a short note saying it could not double-check. Emails to other people still wait.

  • Speed and care

    Waiting the right amount

When a task says to wait a few hours first, your assistant now counts the waiting time correctly. It will not send too early, and it will not wait longer than it needs to.

  • Your assistants

Your team can see how your assistant says hello

People on your team can now read the hello messages your assistant uses. Only the person who made the assistant can change them.

  • Calendar

    Use your other calendar

Your assistant can now put meetings on the second calendar you have connected. Before, it quietly used your main calendar instead.

  • Calendar

No more seeing your name twice

When a meeting moves to one of your other calendars, your name now shows up just once.

  • Calendar

Meetings at the time you picked

Say you want a meeting at one exact time. If a teammate has something there that can be moved, your assistant books your time. Then it lets your teammate know.

  • Calendar

    Your assistant fixes its mistakes

Sometimes a time your assistant offered gets taken before the other person answers. Now your assistant sees that and sends a new message to set things right.

  • Chat apps

Add an assistant to Slack in one step

Putting an assistant into Slack is now quicker. You pick from one simple list, and your work groups look neater too.

  • Chat apps

Answers go where the question was

Your assistant now replies in the same spot where you asked. It also keeps private things out of places where other people can read them.

  • Your account

    Find anything with one search

One search box now finds your people, tasks, chats, assistants and more. Press the Command and K keys to open it.

  • Your account

Asking first and showing clear problems

Before you do something that cannot be undone, you are now asked if you are sure. If a page cannot show its stuff, it now tells you why, instead of just looking empty.

  • Speed and care

    Big jobs stay speedy

Your assistant remembers less extra stuff while it works on a big job. That keeps it quick from start to finish.

  • Speed and care

Clear words when a message waits

Sometimes a message has to wait while your assistant double-checks it, and the double-check takes too long. Your assistant now says that plainly. It no longer sounds like the message was turned down.

  • Speed and care

    Fewer waiting messages

Some messages used to wait just because your assistant ran out of time to look at something. Now your assistant looks again by itself, so you do not have to step in.

Meet the helper that keeps getting better.

Set up your assistant in a few minutes. It starts getting to know you right away.
